The Honda BR-V N7X Edition has been introduced at the 2024 IIMS, offering a 7-seater MPV option that competes with The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga

At the 2024 Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS), Honda has unveiled the ambitious Honda BR-V N7X Edition, adding a spark to the ever-competitive 7-seater MPV segment, where it is set to compete against the likes of the Ertiga. The new edition sets a solid precedent with its exclusive styling upgrades, which distinguish it from the base S trim and versions with manual transmission. Honda BR N7X Edition Rebirth of Honda BR-V in the Form of N7X Edition The Honda BR-V, which once held a prominent position in the Indian automotive landscape, met an unfortunate fate due to dwindling sales but continues to have a strong presence in selected ASEAN markets. Introduced in 2021 as a part of the new generation BR-V series, the N7X Edition takes cues from its previous model's success and adds a variety of enhancements. The second generation BR-V harbours significant deviations from its predecessor, adopting the advanced Amaze platform. The enhanced model exhibits a higher degree of SUV aesthetics while retaining the original silhouette, eradicating any divisive opinions generated by the first generation.

Assertive Exterior and Interior Designs

Honda BR N7X Edition The Honda BR-V N7X Edition exits the showroom with a bolder front fascia, coupled with a flat design and modern, streamlined bonnet, eliminating the eccentric window line kink. Its rear profile features tail lights inspired by the 5th generation City sedan, thus adding an air of sophistication to its overall aesthetics. Furthermore, this edition retains numerous interior features from the Amaze model.

What Makes BR-V N7X Edition Stand Out?

Honda BR N7X Edition Some of the key highlights of the BR-V N7X Edition include a dark chrome front grill bearing the N7X Edition emblem, captivating LED headlights with DRLS, power-operated retractable ORVMs with LED indicators, black door handles, and a sleek black shark fin antenna. On the side, it sports 17-inch black alloy wheels and black side garnish. The vehicle also wears a dark chrome BR-V badge and an attractive all-black interior with a sprinkle of silver elements in the CVT variant.

Engine and Price

BRV N7X Engine The Honda BR-V N7X Edition is offered in E CVT, Prestige CVT, and Prestige Sensing CVT trims, with prices starting from IDR 319.4 million (around Rs 17 lakhs). It debuts the captivating Sand Khaki Pearl as its signature paint. Powering this model is a 1.5L DOHC I-VTEC engine capable of generating 121 PS of maximum power and 145 Nm of peak torque, mated to either a 6-speed manual transmission or a CVT. Unfortunately, the N7X Edition kit isn't available on the base S trim, and the Honda Sensing ADAS suite is only available for the top trim. As the car industry continues to shift towards the rising popularity of SUVs and MPVs, we can only wait to see if Honda will reintroduce the BR-V into the Indian market, potentially taking on popular models such as Maruti Ertiga, XL6, and Kia Carens.

Promising Debut New Bentley Continental GT V8 PHEV Outperforms Outgoing W12 Engine

Promising Debut New Bentley Continental GT V8 PHEV Outperforms Outgoing W12 Engine

Bentley's new Continental GT, transitioning from W12 to a PHEV powertrain with an extra 123hp. Inspired by the Batur, it features a refined.

Bentley has shared a sneak peek of their new Continental GT with the public in advance of the official unveiling. The power of the latest GT doesn’t only come from its cosmetic enhancements but also from the transition from the W12 engine to a new PHEV powertrain. The latter boasts an additional jump of 123hp. Bentleys_new_Continental_GT Despite the Continental GT being under wraps, some details about the car are discernible from the images. The design of the headlights, for instance, has been borrowed from the elite Batur; although, its overall shape is significantly rounder.

Underscoring a momentous shift in energy utilization, this latest GT model will be Bentley's first foray into the newly developed 'ultra-performance hybrid' technology. The engine comprises an upgraded 4.0-litre V8 teamed with a solitary electric motor that is slated to be housed within the transmission mechanism. This formidable combination churns out a massive 782hp and peak torque of 1,001Nm. This impressive output trumps the 750hp of the W12 powertrain in the Batur, which the new V8 PHEV is set to replace. Bentleys_new_Continental_GT Though the previous model of the Continental GT W12 boasted an acceleration rate of 3.6 seconds from 0-100kph, this forthcoming model is anticipated to surpass that. However, the UK-based carmaker has been tight-lipped about revealing the exact details of the car’s performance capabilities. Bentley has taken care to ensure that the car's dynamic temperament remains unaltered as it enters its fourth generation. To achieve this, alterations have been made to the active anti-roll bars, and the torque vectoring has been reconfigured. Additionally, the car is equipped with a dual-valve shock absorber system and a wheel arrangement designed for all four tires. Bentleys_new_Continental_GT Bentley will debut the new Continental GT globally before introducing it to the Indian market as a replacement for the existing model. The discontinuation of the old V8 engine indicates that the base price of the new model could spike significantly.

Evoking the nostalgia of past off-roaders

suzuki_jimny_heritage Given its monotiker in India, the Jimny nameplate may be relatively recent, but the vehicle has been globally recognized under the same name for several decades. Notably, the 5-door model that was introduced in India is making its presence felt in right-hand-drive markets, including Australia, where it is marketed as the Jimny XL. The trademark of old-school 3-door off-roaders like the Jimny was their brightly colored decals, and the Heritage Editions joyfully revive those nostalgic design elements.

Distinctive Exterior Features

suzuki_jimny_heritage The initial Jimny Heritage edition was introduced to Australian audiences in March 2023 starting with the 3-door model. This 5-door version sport the same attractive red and orange decals along the side, complimented by red mud-flaps. There’s a Jimny Heritage logo decal as well, featuring a rhinoceros design. Competitors and Price Range

suzuki_jimny_heritage The Jimny by Maruti Suzuki competes with the Mahindra Thar and Force Gurkha 3-door versions in the market while providing a sturdy alternative for the sub-4m SUVs. The Indian ex-showroom price for the Jimny ranges from Rs 12.74 lakh to Rs 14.95 lakh. So there you have it, the Heritage Edition of the Maruti Suzuki's 5-door Jimny. While its mechanical aspects remain unaltered, it is the nostalgic exterior detailing which makes it a unique addition to international markets like Australia.

Mahindra & Mahindra faces over 2 lakh pending orders, including 50,000 XUV 3XO bookings from its recent launch, as reported in its latest financial briefing.

Mahindra & Mahindra Limited, a leading player in the Indian automobile industry, is currently grappling with more than 2 lakh pending orders. This backlog includes over 50,000 bookings for the XUV 3XO model accumulated in just an hour from its recent launch. The Scorpio N and the Scorpio Classic top the list with respective backlogs of 86,000. The Thar model, including the Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) variant, has seen an accumulation of 59,000 unfulfilled orders. The recently launched XUV 3XO, despite its huge popularity on launch, has not seen delivery commencement leading to a backlog of 50,000. Meanwhile, the XUV700 and Bolero models have pending orders of 16,000 and 10,000 respectively. the XUV 3XO An examination of the backlog shows that the Scorpio N, Scorpio Classic, and Thar models account for over 65% of the total pending orders. Although the Bolero and Bolero Neo have less unfulfilled orders compared to the other models, they have seen a high average of 9,500 units booked each month, second only to the Scorpio models. The company faces unavoidable challenges such as production constraints and issues brought about by the supply chain. While Mahindra receives around 48,000 new bookings a month, the monthly cancellation rate stands at 10 percent. the XUV 3XO Factors such as the average waiting period also play a role in order fulfillment. The XUV700 currently has the longest waiting period of 7 months among the top 20 cities in India. Following closely is the Scorpio N with a 6-month waiting period. Meanwhile, other models including the Thar, XUV400 EV, Scorpio Classic, Bolero, and the Bolero Neo show a shorter waiting time of around 3-4 months. the XUV 3XO Mahindra's XUV 3XO has experienced an unprecedented reception in the market, clocking over 50,000 orders within the first hour of its launch. Deliveries for this model are earmarked to commence after May 26, 2024, a move that is expected to alleviate the current pending order situation. Given this, it is clear that the company has considerable consumer trust and demand, with the Scorpio diesel, in particular, being worthy of following.
