India Yamaha Motor, in an exciting start to the new financial year, has brought forward a series of graphic updates along with striking new colour schemes for three of its top-ranked models. The 2024 Yamaha MT-15, Fascino, and the Ray ZR, have all been adorned with fresh, vibrant colours as part of the company's Call of the Blue campaign. This move by Yamaha, however, is purely cosmetic and doesn't involve any alterations in the machines' internal functioning. 2024 MT15, Fascino, and RayZR These top selling models, now boasting of new colours, are expected to continue enticing prospective customers with their customised colour offerings. Moreover, they're expected to keep the Yamaha loyalists engaged and keep the brand's strong association with its customers intact. Yamaha aims to appeal to the younger segment of consumers through these modish colour updates. Among the models introduced, the MT-15 V2 DLX trim now appears in a new Cyber Green colour scheme. This is added to its pre-existing shades comprising Dark Matte Blue, Metallic Black, Ice Fluo Vermillion, Racing Blue, and Metallic Black. The bike also receives several graphic revisions. MT15_02 Yamaha has incorporated a hazard function into the MT-15 V2 DXL model. This feature stresses road safety by signalling other riders to ride with caution. The bike, powered by a 155cc liquid-cooled 4-valve engine, dishes out 18 hp and with a torque of 4.10 Nm. It is priced at Rs 1,72,700 (ex-showroom price). Furthermore, Yamaha's Ray ZR 125 Fi Hybrid now flashes a Cyan Blue in addition to its previously available colours like Metallic Black, Matte Red, Racing Blue, and Dark Matte Blue. Despite its new vibrant look, the mechanics of the Ray ZR offers no change and continues to remain powered with a 125cc, air-cooled, fuel-injected engine. The bike is also equipped with Hybrid Power Assist, LED lamps, a digital meter console with Y-Connect Bluetooth, an automatic start/stop feature, and a smart motor generator delivering superior fuel efficiency. The Disc variant of the Ray ZR 125 Fi Hybrid is now priced at Rs 91,430, whereas the Drum variant costs Rs 85,030 (ex-showroom prices). 2024 MT15, Fascino, and RayZR On the same note, Yamaha gave a colour makeover to another model in the portfolio, the Yamaha Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid. The bike’s disc and drum variants received new colour schemes, Matte Copper, Metallic White, and Cyan Blue, in addition to its previous colours - Dark Matte Blue, Cool Blue Metallic, and Vivid Red. Powered by a 125 cc air-cooled engine, the Fascino is capable of delivering 8.2 hp at 6,500 rpm and gives a mileage of 68.75 kmpl. The Drum and Disc variants of the bike are priced at Rs 79,900 and Rs 91,130 (ex-showroom prices) respectively. Earlier this year, the company made a similar move by introducing a new colour for the 2024 Yamaha R25. Initially presented with the Midnight Star Purple shade in Malaysia, the colour scheme was later discontinued and replaced with a Glacier White shade with mesmerizing Cyan graphics across various parts of the bike including the headlamp cowl, front fender, side fairing, and fuel tank.

The Luxurious Next-Gen Mitsubishi Pajero Render

The Luxurious Next-Gen Mitsubishi Pajero Render

Rumors suggest a luxurious return of the Mitsubishi Pajero in 2027. Enthusiasts eagerly await the revived model, new renderings sparking excitement

The iconic Mitsubishi Pajero, known in some markets as the Montero and Shogun, was discontinued in 2021. However, rumors are swirling about a grand return, speculated for 2027, this time with a luxurious touch. Enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating how this revived Pajero might look, and new renderings are giving us a tantalizing glimpse into its possible future.

Mitsubishi's Glorious Past and Evolving Future

Next_Gen_Mitsubishi_Pajero In its heyday, Mitsubishi enjoyed significant popularity in markets like India, where it sold the larger Pajero alongside the smaller Pajero Sport. While the latter continues to sell, the original Pajero was phased out, marking the end of an era. It's essential not to confuse the Pajero with the Pajero Sport; the former was a larger vehicle sold under various names like Montero and Shogun in different markets. The Pajero Sport, now in its third generation, remains in production and sales across several regions.

The Anticipated Comeback: A Flagship Marvel

Next_Gen_Mitsubishi_Pajero With Mitsubishi’s vehicle lineup aging, an updated Pajero could be the breath of fresh air the brand needs. The new Pajero is expected to return as Mitsubishi’s flagship luxury SUV, competing with heavyweights like the Mercedes-Benz GLE, BMW X5, Audi Q7, Volvo XC90, Lexus GX, and Toyota Land Cruiser Prado.

Inspired Design and Enhanced Features

The new renderings of the anticipated 2027 Mitsubishi Pajero draw heavy inspiration from Mitsubishi's own Outlander SUV. However, the Pajero's design is more substantial, featuring a larger and more imposing fascia, elevated ground clearance, and more muscular aesthetics. Key design elements include shorter windshield height for a bolder look, pronounced character lines, flared wheel arches, and chunky side claddings, which all contribute to its robust and luxurious appearance.

Luxurious Interiors and Advanced Technology

Next_Gen_Mitsubishi_Pajero The upcoming Pajero is expected to be more opulent than its predecessors and even outshine the current Outlander in terms of interior luxury. The vehicle is projected to measure around 5 meters in length and 2 meters in width, suggesting a grander scale. Futuristic wheels, potentially 20 or 21 inches in diameter, add to its premium visage. Inside, the new Pajero will likely be decked out with high-end materials such as extensive leather use, larger infotainment and instrument screens, enhanced cabin noise insulation, and plusher seats. Rear-row occupants can expect increased comfort, while advanced safety systems including ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) and other modern elements are anticipated.

Powertrain and Performance Prospects

Speculation surrounds the upcoming Pajero’s powertrain, with many expecting it to feature a more powerful version of the Outlander’s plug-in hybrid engine. This setup might include three electric motors—two on the rear axle and one on the front—working together with a 2.4-liter engine to produce around 400 bhp in total system output. This advanced powertrain would be built on the Outlander’s CMF-C/D platform, promising a blend of power and efficiency.

While Mitsubishi has exited several markets like India, the buzz around the next-generation Pajero suggests that the brand is not resting on its laurels. The 2027 Mitsubishi Pajero promises to be a harmonious blend of luxury, technology, and robust design, potentially setting new standards in the luxury SUV segment. Enthusiasts and critics alike are watching closely, eager to see if Mitsubishi can reinvent this legendary SUV for the modern era.

Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2 Enhanced Power and Affordability Unveiled

Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2 Enhanced Power and Affordability Unveiled

Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2 review: Improved styling, features, performance, and affordability make it the fastest electric motorcycle in the country.

Ultraviolette Automotive has upped the ante with the F77 Mach 2, making improvements to what was already the fastest electric motorcycle in the country. This new iteration not only boasts enhanced styling, features, and performance but also comes at a more affordable price point. My review puts these claims to the test.

A Brief History

Ultraviolette_F77 In 2019, Ultraviolette first introduced the F77, showcasing a bike that was both fast and innovative, featuring a removable battery pack among other attributes. After a few years of refinement, they launched the final, mass-production version in early 2023. While it was an improvement in terms of speed and ride enjoyment, it carried a hefty price tag. Additionally, the limited dealership networks hampered its sales potential. Fast forward to 2024, and I find myself test-riding the enhanced Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2 against the picturesque backdrop of Hosur's rolling hills. This new version is not only faster and better equipped but also claims a longer range. As a motorcycle enthusiast with a 70km daily commute, this piqued my interest. So, how does it hold up? Let's dive in.

Design & Ergonomics

Ultraviolette_F77 At first glance, you might think the Mach 2 looks identical to its predecessor—and you'd be right. Ultraviolette's philosophy is to not fix what's not broken. The bike retains its sharp, mass-forward design and streetfighter stance, with improvements made to the material quality. There's now a palette of nine new color options, including Supersonic Silver, Stellar White, Lighting Blue, Turbo Red, Afterburner Yellow, Stealth Grey, and Cosmic Grey. The standouts for me are the white, yellow, and light-gray schemes. However, one pet peeve that persists is the wheel stripes, a trend that should have been left in the early 2000s. That aside, the overall material quality has been upgraded, particularly the aluminium charging port cover, which replaces the previous flimsy plastic. In terms of ergonomics, the F77 Mach 2 continues to offer a streetfighter-style, committed stance similar to the outgoing model. However, it strikes a balance between a committed and upright riding posture. While you sit up high with a semi-sport footpeg position and a low-set handlebar, it might give you second thoughts for daily use. But rest assured, you'll get used to it within a day.

Ultraviolette_F77 Moving on to the features, the F77 Mach 2 doesn't disappoint. Despite the incremental improvements over the previous model, there's plenty to talk about. Existing highlights include all-LED lighting, a 5-inch color TFT screen, reverse mode, digital document storage, auto on/off headlights, 4G-based connectivity features, and multiple ride modes. The most notable addition is the hill-hold assist feature, which automatically applies the brakes when you release the lever and disengages when you squeeze it again. Additionally, the F77 Mach 2 now offers 10 levels of brake regeneration, up from the previous three, further enhancing its performance. Ultraviolette has also revamped the instrument console’s UI, making it more intuitive. It now includes a G-meter-like readout displaying real-time throttle and brake-regen data. While the bike is already feature-rich, cruise control would have been a welcome addition given its price and riding stance, especially for longer rides.

Performance & Handling

Ultraviolette_F77 Now let’s talk numbers. The Mach 2 features a 30kW electric motor delivering 40bhp and 100Nm of torque. This power output is uniform across both variants, with the only difference being the battery size and range. The base variant includes a 7.3kWh battery pack with a claimed 211km per charge. In contrast, the top Recon model holds a 10.3kWh battery allowing for a claimed 323km per charge. The bike's acceleration has improved, with the ability to go from 0 to 60km/h in just 2.8 seconds and from 0 to 100km/h in 7.7 seconds. These may seem like marginal gains, but they contribute to a more refined overall package. The Mach 2's torque is one of its standout features. When you open the throttle in ballistic mode, the bike surges forward with impressive force. It even boasts the capability to pull a 15,000kg payload. There's more low-end and mid-range power, making the bike more tractable at lower speeds, even in combat and stealth modes. This balancing act allows you to preserve range or opt for a relaxed ride when needed. One of the most significant updates is the bike's brake regeneration feature, which now offers 10 levels. The highest setting mimics engine braking while recovering up to 30% of the total charge, making it more efficient than any other electric two-wheeler in India. When it comes to handling, the F77 Mach 2 performs admirably. It feels heavy at a standstill and in traffic, but once you get moving, it is remarkably nimble and responsive. It handles well in various conditions, though it can get a bit unsettled over speed bumps and rough surfaces due to its weight. Overall, it remains a well-rounded package in terms of handling and performance.

Ultraviolette_F77 In summary, the Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2 is a faster and more refined version of what was already the best electric motorcycle in the country. With a more affordable price point, it becomes an excellent choice for those looking for a fast, aesthetically pleasing, and semi-practical performance-oriented motorcycle for daily use. While its committed riding posture may not scream comfort, the claimed 323km range should alleviate any range anxiety. Furthermore, Ultraviolette plans to open 17 new dealerships across India soon, making it easier for prospective buyers. So, if the F77’s previous price and limited dealer network held you back, now is the ideal time to get your hands on this impressive machine. The Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2 is not just cheaper but significantly better, too.
